Japanese Sandwiches at convenience stores

Foods&Sweets

It’s often said that the quality of bread, sandwiches, and sweets at Japanese convenience stores is remarkably high.

Convenience store chains like 7-Eleven, Lawson, and FamilyMart constantly strive to deliver delicious and affordable products to their customers. No matter which one you choose, you’re bound to be satisfied.

As someone who frequently uses JR East for business trips, my top recommendation is the “Cafe Sand: Shrimp & Broccoli” sandwich from the NewDays convenience stores found inside JR East’s stations. It’s priced at 380 yen (tax included).

This sandwich features thick, brown bread and is packed with boiled shrimp, broccoli, as well as boiled egg, edamame(green soybeans), potatoes, carrots, and onions all mixed with mayonnaise. Before I know it, I always end up reaching for this one.

Just one sandwich is enough to fill you up. NewDays also offers other tasty options like the “Pastrami Pork & Slow-Cooked Chicken” and the “Dill Cream Cheese with Ham & Bacon,” but my personal favorite is definitely the “Cafe Sand: Shrimp & Broccoli.”

It’s available at stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area, as well as in Shizuoka, Nagano, Miyagi, Fukushima, Yamagata, and Iwate. If you happen to be in any of these regions, I highly recommend you give it a try!
